One of the most major change for the 2025 Defender is the introduction of the Defender 110 OCTA. Land Rover has stated it is the most capable Defender ever put into production.

With it, New Jersey drivers can get a twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 626 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque.

New Defender Capability

It would not be a true Defender without true capability. Four-wheel drive, locking differentials, and other features come standard across the lineup. There is 11.5 inches of ground clearance, and Land Rover states the new Defender can ford up to 35 inches of water. 

The standard engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 296 horsepower. Other engines include:

• 3.0-liter inline-six, making 395 horsepower
• V8 engine, producing 518 horsepower
• Twin-turbo V8 engine, generating 626 horsepower
